Prof. Dr. Aparna Jain is a senior academic administrator and researcher with over three decades of experience in commerce and management education. She currently serves as Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Studies, and Director of Dr. Shantilal K. Somaiya School of Commerce & Business Studies (SKSCBS) at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai, a role she has held since February 2026, alongside her position as Professor and Head of the Department of Business Studies (since 2024). She chairs the Board of Studies for Business Studies, leads curriculum development under NEP 2020 across BBA, BBM, and BCom programmes, and drives industry MoU formalisation and doctoral research mentoring. Earlier in her career, she served as Professor & Assistant Director at SK Somaiya College (2020–2024) and spent nearly two decades as Assistant Professor and BMS Coordinator at S.K. Somaiya Degree College (2000–2020).
Dr. Jain holds a Ph.D. in Commerce (Business Policy & Administration) from Mumbai University, an MBA in Marketing from Symbiosis Pune, and a gold-medal M.Com from Mumbai University. Her research spans marketing, consumer behaviour, sustainability, AI adoption, and the gig economy, with publications across Scopus, ABDC, and UGC-CARE indexed journals, including a recent Springer book chapter on sustainable PET plastic waste management and an authored book on Sustainable Marketing. She has received several accolades, including the Best Research Paper Award at Samavaya 2025 and the Best Paper Presentation Award at the 14th International Research Conference on AI and sustainability in 2024.
Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Jain plays an active institutional leadership role as Convener of the Somaiya Research Conference, a member of the Academic Advisory Board at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, and a recognised Ph.D. guide mentoring doctoral scholars in commerce and business studies. She is also a sought-after subject expert for faculty selection committees and Board of Studies appointments at autonomous colleges across Mumbai, reflecting her standing in academic governance and curriculum design.
