Dr. Abhishek Ghosh has done his Ph.D. in South Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago, USA and an M.St. In Theology and Religious Studies from Mansfield College, Oxford University, UK. He has over 18 years of teaching and research experience and a decade of higher education administration in various roles.
In terms of contributions, Dr Ghosh represented the Permanent Mission of India, New York for UN Security Council Reform at the United Nations in 2023 December. He is a Senior Editor of the Journal of Vaishnava Studies, the longest-running journal of Hindu Studies in the Western world, and as a Director of the Institute for Vaishnava Studies has been a catalyst in transitioning into a degree-granting research institute licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education in 2022-23.
He was felicitated with the prestigious "Dean’s Award" for teaching in Arts and Sciences at the University of Chicago, in 2013 and has been associated with Somaiya Vidyavihar University in various advisory capacities since 2012.
In his leisure time, Dr. Ghosh likes curating rare spiritual books, objects, and art from the World's religions and is passionate about poetry, music, and vegetarian cooking.
