University Cultural Committee (UCC)

As per the guidelines of University Grant Commission and the requirement of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The cultural committee of Somaiya Vidyavihar University promotes an amicable campus culture by engaging students from different states of India and foreign nations. We aim to provide a rich social culture to discover inner talents and abilities.

The committee seeks to create a platform that provides the students with an opportunity to display creative talents in a variety of ways.

Role and Responsibilities

To plan and schedule cultural events for the academic year and indicate in the academic calendar.
To create and manage student committees and clubs for various activities and events during the academic year
To prepare budgets for all cultural events as per the academic calendar and take necessary steps for its approval.
Conduct intra and inter collegiate cultural events in the College.
To circulate notices to departments regarding cultural events, venues, date, time and other details. Put up information on the website of SVU.
To organising All India University (AIU) events.
To organize events as mandated by the government from time to time.
The Cultural Committee shall also be responsible for organizing the following events:
- Independence Day
- Republic Day
- Maharashtra Day
- Women’s Day
- Marathi Bhasha Divas
- Hindi Bhasha Divas
- Founder’s Day
- Festival Celebrations of all religions
- University Youth Festivals
