Davendranath Jha earned his PhD (Management) from University of Mumbai (earlier University of Bombay). He is currently a Professor in Data Science and Technology (formerly Information Technology) at K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies - A Constituent Academic Institute of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Vidyavihar, Mumbai, INDIA.  He has successfully mentored the B-School toward receiving the coveted AACSB Accreditation. He is also currently Chairperson – SVU: BOS Information Technology; Member – SVU: BOS Data Science & Technology; Member – SVU: BOS Business Analytics; Member – SVU: BOS Computer Science; Member – SVU: Board of Examination, Pratham IQAC. He also serves as the members of the Academic Council of SVU.

He has been regularly conducting training on several areas of Data and Information Sciences such as Digital Transformation, "R" Programming, , Database system (MS-Access, SQL), Management Information System, Software Testing and Concepts in ERP, eCRM, Innovations in IT and Essentials of Industry 4.0 at various Institutes and corporate houses such as Akers solution, J B Pharma, Godavari Bio Refineries Ltd (GBL), Schaeffler India Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Somaiya Trust, Life Insurance Corporation India (LIC), Iflex Solutions Ltd, Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Ltd., Arkema Chemicals India Branch Office, INS Hamla- Indian Navy, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) – ATI, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd.. He also conducts specialised courses for MBA for Working Executives in the area of Database Applications and Digital Transformation.

Professor Jha also has to his credit a publication of book titled "Computer Concepts and Management Information Systems" published by Prentice-Hall of India (PHI). Its’ revised second edition has hit the stands in March 2013. He has several publications to his credit. His research encompasses Data Driven Decision making, Design and Management of Information systems, Data Analytics and Digital Transformation
