Dr. Bhagyashree Bavare is presently Associate Professor at the K. J. Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies, Somaiya Vidyavihar University and In-charge Exam Cell for Centre for Buddhist Studies. She is working with Somaiya Centre for Buddhist Studies since November 2012. 

She has varied experience in the field of teaching and research. At the beginning of her career, she has taught for undergraduate and post - graduate programmes in Sanskrit as well as Indian Preforming Arts. She also has an experience of working as a research assistance on a project 'Archaeo-astronomy in Indian Context' at TIFR. She was also part of a unique course on ancient Indian Astronomy as a visiting teacher at the UMDAE - Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences in her early years of career. 

She has published research articles in reputed journals and has presented papers at National and International level conferences. Her main research interest lies in the field of Sanskrit language and literature as well as Buddhist Sanskrit literature. She is also interested in the field of Indian mythology, Narrative literature. Dr. Bavare is also learning and teaching Tibetan language at the institute. 

 She is also interested in research and translation activities at the institute and is keen to explore multi-disciplinary areas of studies.
