She represented India at the International Kickboxing Tournament - Wako Indian Open International Kickboxing Tournament held at Delhi.
Vidhi started practicing kickboxing since 2014, at the age of 12. She has also won several other medals in state and national level tournaments. Vidhi’s achievement is a result of her dedication and committed training for 5 hours each day.
Vidhi’s quote- “I feel on top of the world! I worked very hard for this competition, and winning this makes me feel that all the hard work and dedication has paid off! This could not have been possible with the uncompromised support of my support system. For any athlete, there is an army of people who are responsible for making it happen. In my case, my coach, my family and friends, the support of my college for allowing me to practice thus balancing academics and sports and of course the Somaiya Sports Academy who believed in my dream and sponsored me to send me for competition.”
Director Somaiya Sports Academy Aazaz Khan said, “At our academy, we not only encourage and provide the necessary training to our students but we also sponsor our promising students. Vidhi has demonstrated excellence in her sport and is entirely deserving, of the chance to represent India. We are proud that she has come out with flying colours, completely justifying her participation. We wish her all the very best for her future endeavors of making India proud time and again.”
