There was a need for a cooking pot which reduces the gas consumption, the time required to cook and the wastage of conventional energy or fuels. The invention provides an efficient cooking pot comprising a) an inner vessel having a bottom portion extending in side walls with the open top extending in a flat perpendicular or angular collar surface; b) an outer vessel surrounding said inner vessel having a bottom portion with a circular hole at its center, extending in side walls with the top extending in a flat perpendicular or angular collar surface complimentary and joined with said inner vessel collar surface creating an annular air gap between the side walls of the two vessels; and c) holes in said flat perpendicular or angular collar surface of said outer vessel. It works efficiently, saves energy, reduces cooking time, reduces human effort and is cost effective. This is also useful where there is a very limited supply of fuel.
