Steering Mechanism using Motorized Tie-Rods
- Abstract
In vehicle suspension systems, a tie rod is an essential part that connects the steering system to the wheels. Tie Rods, which are usually composed of sturdy materials like steel or aluminium, are essential for preserving steering control and wheel alignment. Because of their adjustable nature, precise alignment adjustments can be made to ensure ideal handling and tyre wear. Tie Rods are subjected to a great deal of stress and have to withstand a wide range of road conditions, so durability is crucial for vehicle safety. Tie Rod maintenance and inspection are essential to preventing steering problems and preserving overall vehicle performance. This project aimed to design tie rods that could be manufactured, used to measure vibrations, and subsequently used to reduce them. Using the mobile application (Vibrometer), we will have the ability to quantify the vibration that exists in tie-rods and then work to minimize that vibration.
