The story of history has always been full of life and colour. It’s human beings who create and write history and its history which assigns human beings touch and flavour of greatness. Monuments are the eyewitnesses of this meaningful dialogue. They form integral part of the historical memory of any nation. Monuments are impressions of the past, expressing the ideals, values of the bygone era in the present and continue to serve as the objects for reflection for future generations. This paper discusses one such historical monument in terms of the theme of communication and its impact. The monument that is studied belongs to the dream city of India namely Mumbai.
